The oboe is a member of the woodwind instrument family and is a double reed instrument. The oboe has a clear, mellow and warm tone that many people enjoy because of how it can be so calming. Like many brass instruments are, this woodwind instrument is a conical bore, which means that the diameter of the tube begins relatively small and becomes wider to the end of the instrument.
